We have the pleasure of inviting you to the
“SISA 3rd Annual Workshop on Cartilage
Repair” on Sunday the 27th September, 2009 at
Sai Institute of Sports Injury & Arthroscopy.
Management of articular cartilage defects
have remained a challenge to orthopaedic
surgeons even today. In the past decade
significant advances have been made in
cartilage surgery which includes autograft
transfer, autologous chondrocyte implantation
and osteochondral allograft transplantation.
Autologous Chondrocyte Implantation (ACI)
is being recognised as a reliable and safe
technique to treat chondral defects in patients
below 40 years, preventing them from
descending into advanced osteoarthritis,
thereby avoiding joint replacement surgery in
future. We are going to highlight more on the
cartilage repair using ACI 4th Generation -
Fibrin Based Gel Matrix which has been
recently introduced in India.
Prof. Dr. Seok Jung Kim who is a renowned
surgeon from South Korea will be our
international faculty. Dr. Anant Joshi, Dr.
David Rajan, Dr. Sripathi Rao and Dr.
Dinshaw Pardiwala will be the national guest
faculty.
The course would feature more of practical and
technical aspects. We propose to make this an
exciting and interesting event.
Hope to see you at the workshop.
Yours sincerely Dr Raghuveer Reddy. K
