The kneecap is designed to fit in the center of this groove, and slide evenly within the groove during the knee movements. But due to biomechanical alterations , in some patients knee cap tends to slip outwards during the the knee movements.It is called patellar instability.
Symptoms
Kneecap (patella) moves to the outside of the knee
Anterior knee pain and tenderness
Hypermobile patella (you can move the kneecap excessively )
